NEW BLOG

With the changes that have been happening with social media in the past year, I have decided my presence online needs to change. More and more, social media platforms have been stealing creative content and I refuse to be a part of that garbage. At conventions and workshops, photographers are 'encouraged' to self-promote, self-promote, self-promote. That's not me and it never will be. I don't plan on being a full-time freelancer, so I couldn't care less. The internet is a beautiful thing, and it allows us to publish anything we want and to share what we do. I am just streamlining. Quality over quantity.

I am moving to a different blog because it works a bit better for my uses.

I have a website, a tumblr blog and Facebook. I wish I didn't need Facebook, but unfortunately, communication in grad school depends on it. I no longer have a twitter account, and probably won't use instagram anymore.

Bulldogs in Nelsonville

I passed my grad review, finished my finals, and have a month off. I now have time to continue photographing the the Athens girls' basketball team. 

They had a close game tonight in Nelsonville, but pulled ahead in the fourth quarter to give them win number five.

It has been a roller coaster with this little guy. We had to nearly put him down because of health issues he was having, but we found a solution to his problem. We are now cooking his food, white rice, chicken (sometimes eggs) and veggies.

The Bulldogs had their first game last night. They won. Looked solid.

Bulldogs basketball

I am starting a new project, following the Athens high school girls basketball team. These are the type of stories I love to tell. I did a similar story a few years ago on the West Fargo football team, but this has a much different energy. I can't wait to see where this one goes and I am so glad the team and coach Wayne are willing to have me follow them around.

Side note...these posts on the team will be larger edits. I want to share as much with the team as I can.
